My practice includes:
Criminal Law. I have extensive experience handling criminal matters, having served as the First Assistant and Assistant District Attorney for Coryell County, Special Prosecutor for Coryell County, Assistant Chief Juvenile Prosecutor for Coryell County, and Chief Juvenile Prosecutor for Bell County and Coryell County. Many of my criminal defense clients are either individuals I prosecuted while working for the state or referrals from those individuals and other lawyers. I defend misdemeanor and felony charges in both state and federal courts. I have represented clients in criminal appeals.
Divorce and Family Law. I represent men and women at all stages of a marital breakup, from the initial filing through trial and post-judgment requests for modification. I work extensive with Child Protection Services cases and regularly represent clients in divorce mediation and collaborative law proceedings.
Adoptions. I advocate on behalf of foster parents and loved ones who want to work with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services to adopt children.
My practice also includes civil litigation and jury trials, review and preparation of documents in business transactions and legal advice to teachers, court reporters and nurses in administrative hearings.
Over the course of my career, I have handled literally thousands of criminal defense or divorce cases. Although many of my cases settle or are plea-bargained, I am a highly capable litigator with a reputation for aggressive and skilled oral advocacy. I prepare every case with the expectation that it will go to trial.
